When most people think about US wine regions that make wonderful wines, not too many immediately think of Georgia.  I live near Atlanta and heard for years from friends about the great fun they had wine tasting up in North Georgia.  I was sure that they had fun, but was very skeptical that the wine was anything to write home about.  I was wrong.  My husband and I took our first trip up to Dahlonega in the summer of 2010 and had a super time.  Not all the wine was great, or even good.  But we found a few really wonderful wineries that make some great wines.  And lucky for us, we are finally in a wine club for one of them and we don’t have to fly all of the way across the country to attend a wine club event.
