On the afternoon of my visit to Georis, it was cold and raining so we were not able to have our tasting outside in their adorable and lush courtyard.  While I would have enjoyed this, we still have a wonderful time.  The tasting room is located within an eclectic shop full of colorful items, so you are surrounded by neat art and decor.  The tasting is seated with cheese pairing (always a HUGE bonus in my book) and we really took our time to enjoy each of the wines and understand how they pair with food.

Georis Tasting Room

The focus of our tasting was french varietals – Cab Franc, Merlot and Cabernet.  The wines were smooth and rich and most moderately priced ($20-$25).  The two standouts were the Estate “La Chapelle” Merlot and the Estate Cabernet which were amazing and therefore much pricier ($48-$50).  This was one of the most memorable and enjoyable tasting visits that we had in Carmel.  Add this one to your itinerary.

downsides?  None.  Go.  Relax and enjoy their wines.  Hopefully it will be a nice day but no worries if it is raining.

Rating: 4 out of 4 – highly recommend
